Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is a key role within C5’s Sales Team.  Primarily the role will develop relationships with potential new customers to develop new business opportunities in line with C5 business objectives and sales plan. However, there will be some development of existing client accounts to deepen relationships and introduce new services and products.

The role requires an ability to understand the services and products we sell and also to develop an understanding of our clients’ businesses. 
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the role involves liaising across the various practice areas of the business to drive sales of C5’s services and products.  Managing and achieving sales and performance targets is key.

Key Responsibilities

-Target and develop new business opportunities with prospective clients aligned to C5’s sales plan.
-Deepen relationships with existing clients to increase revenue and sell new services.
-Work with target and existing clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into impactful solutions in conjunction with the technical teams.
-Work with key suppliers to understand their products, take to market and develop new business opportunities.
-Develop compelling sales proposals in conjunction with technical teams and present to a range of stakeholders from C level down.
-Plan and implement activity to drive new sales and interest from new customers.
-Ensure CRM records are maintained and updated on sales pipeline, client base and contacts.
-Attend and contribute to sales meetings.
-Undertake additional ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

-Highly organised. Able to prioritise a variety of critical short, medium- and long-term tasks for multiple activities. 
-Analytical and problem-solving orientation. 
-Collaborative team member, with the ability to work independently or part of a project team.
-Self-motivated and able to effectively deliver results within deadlines and with minimum supervision.
-Keep up to date with latest changing technologies and ability to articulate changes to customers and peers.
-Proven track record in B2B sales and performing against sales KPI’s.
-Experience of developing client focused proposals and solutions, and presenting to clients.
-A background in selling technology and/or managed services is preferable but not essential.
-Experienced in negotiating and closing sales.

-Educated to A-level/Diploma level or equivalent.

-Non-Technical Skills:
-Proven track record of building relationships with key stakeholders and understanding business needs and challenges.
-Proven track record of delivering sales results against KPI’s.
-Prior business development experience within a B2B environment. 
-Excellent communication especially when explaining technical solutions in simple terms.
-Deliver a first-class customer service by delivering proposals/solutions to meet customer needs and challenges.
-Prioritise and manage activities to build an active sales pipeline. 
-Build and maintain customer relationships from C level down.
