Technical Specialist (Citrix)

As a Technical Specialist, you will be an integral member of a dynamic team responsible for the high-quality delivery of our solutions and products. In this role; you will be responsible for the provision of technical solutions throughout the life cycle of a solution or product provided by us to our clients. You will assist colleagues and the business with technical issues in all areas, you will provide technical feedback and impact assessments setting technical standards and supporting documentation. As a senior member of the team you will be involved in the deployment of our enterprise solutions. The job requires you to be able to understand market development, practice development, work with leaderships in pursuits, proposals etc. You will advocate the importance of our client delivery as well as our internal practice and service delivery models. The ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and business lines are key components for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

Key Result Areas
  • Actively manage senior client projects from a technical perspective
  • Is involved and makes recommendations on how to improve, gain more from our services through the use of technology
  • Provides deep specialist consultancy, guidance and support in their specific specialism
  • Ensures that any solution fits with the business strategic and technical direction
  • Create and integrate solutions at enterprise level using the latest technologies
  • Use tested methodologies to document services, business objects, and other requirements as lead by the business and clients
  • Use Partner tools and technologies to extend and improve the functionality of our products and services
  • Communicate with team members to clarify requirements and overcome obstacles to meet the team goals
  • Leverage other technologies outside of the normal technology stack should the need arise, and autonomously be able to make use of those decisions
  • Develop cutting edge solutions to maximize the performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities of the systems
  • Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues, escalating where appropriate
  • Work with development teams in an agile context ensuring that the appropriate testing and business process are followed for deployment
  • Actively participate in talent reviews providing feedback and or guidance to those around you
  • Maintain established level of productivity and meet assigned productivity requirements
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Qualifications/Experience
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing solutions across many of the following technologies and specialise in at least one and hold current certifications: 
  • Must have deep technical knowledge in Citrix XenApp, Netscaler and XenDesktop.
  • Will be responsible for designing and implementing Citrix technology-based solutions for the customer.
  • Must have demonstrable hands on experience as a Technical Architect.
  • Have experience of engaging in IT strategy for Citrix Technology with the customer. 
  • Experience of engaging with Customer Senior Technical Management.
  • Deployed Citrix XenMobile in line with a customer MAM/MDM solution.
  • Exposure to NetScaler SD-WAN technology is desirable. 
  • Have experience of Cloud technologies.
  • Been exposed to Virtualisation technologies, preferably Hyper-V and VMware is desirable.Ability to rapidly establish credibility with clients through effective communication of technical knowledge.
  • Have demonstrated technical and delivery expertise to meet deadlines and create effective deliverables.
